Planting a new Temazcal - A Journey of Purification & Renewal

The Temazcal is a pre-Hispanic tradition rooted in the heart of Mesoamerica. This ancient and sacred purification ceremony was an integral part of life for many Indigenous peoples. It was used for a variety of purposes: to support healing and keeping heath in the famliles , mark significant life events such as births and celebrations, and to prepare for deep spiritual work like the Sundance or Vision Quest.

The ritual takes place inside a dome-shaped structure, symbolizing the womb of Mother Earth. As participants crawl into the temazcal, they are entering a sacred space of transformation. Inside, through the heat of volcanic stones, sacred song , prayer and water , one is invited to release, purify, and reconnect in the womb of Mother Earth.

Sitting in the darkness close to the Earth, the ceremony becomes a profound opportunity to listen to our body, to spirit, and to the voice within.
